In Assam, the last rites of 18 persons including women and children were performed today in Baksa district. Miscreants killed them at Narayanguri area on Friday. Meanwhile, no fresh incident of violence has been reported in Bodoland Territorial Area Districts, BTAD. But curfew continues in Baksa and Kokrajhar district for third day today as a precautionary measure.

Curfew was relaxed in Chirang for six hours from 10 AM. A team of CID has arrived in Baksa to expedite the investigation into the killings. Police said that 2 bodies were recovered today in Barpeta district and it is being investigated to ascertain whether they were killed by miscreants during violence.
