The all party meeting in Guwahati today urged all sections of people to maintain peace and harmony in the violence hit areas of Assam. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said the first and foremost priority is to restore peace and normalcy in the trouble-torn Kokrajhar, Chirang and Dhubri districts and to rehabilitate the affected persons. The Chief Minister appealed to all the political parties to exercise restraint at this juncture and not to make provocative statements that may aggravate the situation. Meanwhile, night curfew continues in Baksa and Rangia revenue circle in Kamrup district as precautionary measures. Police today released 55 people who were detained for questioning yesterday at Tamulpur in Baksa district. Two state minister today visited the district to take stock of the situation.Official sources said that no untoward incident has been reported since last night. Around 14 thousand people returned to home in the last 24 hours. Administration so far closed 119 relief camps in violence marred areas. Patrolling by the security forces is on to maintain law and order situation.
