<span style="color: #222222;">In Assam, Uruka is being celebrated today, on the eve of Magh or Bhogali Bihu. Community feast is held on the occasion. People construct Meji across the state, made of thatch and firewood to be burnt during the festival. People gather around the Meji to offer prayers by throwing a mixture of grains into the flames.</span><br />
