The Assam Government has decided to set up a separate directorate for the development of the tribals in the State. The new directorate will have separate departments for all the tribes, including Bodos. This was stated by the Chief Minister Mr. Tarun Gogoi while inaugurating the open session of 50th annual conference of the Bodo Sahitya Sabha in Udalguri yesterday. He said literary organisations like the Bodo Sahitya Sabha can help wipe out differences among various sections of the people in the State.
