Assam government will publish white paper on various measures taken to protect animals from poachers. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today made this announcement in Guwahati after handing over Self Loading Rifles to forest personnel. Expressing concern of the recent killing of rhinos in Kaziranga National park, the Chief Minister said that government will take all measures to prevent it. Assam government has already deployed 100 personnel of Assam Forest Protection Force in Kaziranga.Poachers killed 15 rhinos this year while security forces have arrested 18 rhino poachers recently and also recovered arms and ammunitions.
