The Assam Government has decided to make health facility a basic right of every citizen. A bill in this regard was introduced in the State Assembly on Thursday. <br/> <br/>The bill aims at providing free treatment in all government or private hospitals for first 24 hours in any emergency. The Bill was introduced in the Assembly by the State Health Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma. <br/> <br/>Later talking to newsmen, Dr. Sharma said Assam will be the first State to have such a Bill. He said the law will be regulated through the state and district-level Medical Boards comprising top government officials as well as representations from the civil society.<br/><br/>
