Assam: Social Welfare dept tells district administration to vaccinate all Divyangas on priority basis

In Assam, the Social Welfare department has told the district administration to vaccinate all Divyangas on priority basis. Talking to AIR, the Director of the department Bibhash Chandra Modi said that several districts have started vaccination of the differently able persons or Divyangas. He said that Social Welfare Minister Ajanta Neog instructed to cover at least 50 thousand Divyangs in the first phase for vaccination.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Modi said that though the Anganwadi Centres are closed due to Covid-19 situation, the services to the beneficiaries are being continued by the department. He said that instead of providing hot cooked meals, take home rations are being delivered at home to all beneficiaries of the department by the Anganwadi workers.  Mr. Modi mentioned that ASHA and Anganwadi Workers are rendering yeoman services as frontline workers across the state.</span><br />
