In Assam, security has been beefed up across the state following boycott call of Republic Day celebrations by as many as six militant groups of the North-East, including the anti-talk faction of banned ULFA.The State Chief Secretary N.K. Das is monitoring the security scenario and reviewing it with top police and other security agencies. A strict vigil is being maintained at river and border entrance routes of the state to check infiltration of militants.Meanwhile, all the preparations have been completed to celebrate the 63rd Republic Day in a befitting manner all over the state. The State Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik will unfurl the National Flag at the main function organized at the Veterinary Field at Khanapara in Guwahati tomorrow morning. Similar programmes have also been organized in all the district and sub-division headquarters of the state.
