In Assam, peaceful polling is on for Guwahati, Nagaon,Mangoldoi,Dhubri,Barpeta and Kokrajhar seats amidst tight security.

Chief Electoral Officer Vijyendra said that 35 percent voting has been reported till 11 am.

Over 94 lakh voters including 3 lakh new voters are eligible to decide the political fate of 74 candidates.

He said that in some polling booths, EVM malfunction has been reported but polling officials replaced the faulty machines.
