Assam: Political activities gain momentum after declaration of fresh polls in BTC

In Assam, political activities are gaining momentum following the declaration of fresh polls scheduled in Bodoland Territorial Council, BTC by the State Election Commission yesterday. Polling will be held on 7th and 10th of next month in two phases. Counting of votes will be held on 12th of next month. A total of 241 candidates are in the fray.<br />'' <br />''Nearly 24 lakh voters will decide the political fate of the candidates in 40 seats. 19 seats will go to the polls in the first phase and the second phase will cover 21 seats. All the political parties are trying to woo the voters through rallies  and road shows.<br />'' <br />''BJP's alliance in Dispur BPF is contesting in 37 seats. On the other hand, BJP has also given candidates in 26 candidates . The BJP is asking for votes alleging misrule of BPF in BTC during the last 15 years.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">On the other hand , former student leader Pramod Bodo led UPPL has put up candidates in all the 40 seats while Congress is contesting in 13 constituencies.</span><br />
