In Assam, the police yesterday recovered a powerful bomb from an abandoned bag in a bus at Amingaon, near Guwahati. The three kilogram improvised explosive device,IED, was recovered during a routine checking from the bus which was coming to Guwahati from Goreswar in Kamrup district. The bomb was later defused by bomb experts of the Assam Police. Meanwhile, three hardcore militants of the Adivasi Peoples Army were arrested by Rangiya police with the help of Dogra Regiment of the Army from different parts of Baksa District. They include the self-styled deputy commander-in-chief of the outfit Stiphen Murmu. The militants are suspected to be involved in the Guwahati-Puri Express train blast on the 10th of this month in which more than forty passengers were injured besides derailing four bogies at Bhatkuchi, near Rangiya in Kamrup district. AIR Guwahati Correspondent reports that over twenty suspected miscreants have so far been arrested by police in connection with the blast on the train and their interrogation is on.
