Assam Police arrested another 5 persons yesterday in connection with the molestation of a girl in Guwahati last Monday. With this, the number has gone up to 12 so far while the main accused are still absconding.Police has already intensified to nab the main culprits. Our Guwahati correspondent reports that the victim of the molestation case met Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi yesterday at his official residence.

AIR correspondent reports that the Chief Minister assured all help to the victim. .Gogoi said that all the culprits will be brought to book.The Assam government announced initially 50 thousand rupees to the victim as she wanted to open a beauty parlour. Additional Chief Secretary Amily Choudhury has already started investigation as ordered by the Chief Minister and to submit a report within 15 days.Gogoi also said that if need be, the case will be handed over to the CID. The opposition parties yesterday stalled proceedings of the Legislative Assembly over the alleged deteriorating law and order situation.
