In Assam people from all walks of life paid tribute to the victims of serial bomb blast on the completion of four years of blast. 90 persons were died and over 400 injured in devastating blast at Ganeshguri, Pan Bazaar and Kachari in Guwahati along with Barpeta Road and Kokrajhar. Large number of people gathered at Ganeshguri since this morning to oppose all sorts of violence. Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi unveiled a Swahid Bedi (memorial) in memory of the blast victims. The Chief Minister urged all insurgent groups to shun violence and come forward for peace talk. Mr. Gogoi said that people are united against terrorism. Most of the family members of the victims demanded harsh punishment against the culprits. Giving a strong message to all the anti-social elements, Mr. Tarun Gogoi also said that strict action will be taken for indulging in violence activities. Variuos civil society organisations and eminent persons have taken part in peace initiatives in Guwahati and other parts of Assam to pay tribute to the victims . Mass paintings, blood donation camp, candle light rally, street play depicting message against violence, are also being organised in Guwahati. Meanwhile, security has been beefed up in Guwahati city in the wake of possible terror threat from insurgent groups. Police and other security agencies are on alert after intelligence report said that insurgent groups may trigger blast via courier agency in the first or second week of November. More than one insurgent group may jointly trigger courier blast. Guwahati City police and other security agencies have constantly monitoring the courier agencies.
