Assam opposition calls off boycott of assembly session

In Assam, the opposition parties on Thursday called-off their three -day boycott of assembly session .With this, the opposition parties have decided to attend the assembly on Friday.The decision came after the meeting of three opposition parties, AIUDF, BJP and Asom Gana Parishad, AGP with Speaker Pranab Gogoi.The opposition parties boycotted the assembly on Tuesday following the Speaker’s alleged remark to AIUDF members on not to ‘caw like crows’.The opposition MLAs today said that all misunderstanding had been cleared. Earlier in the day, the opposition members staged a dharna in the assembly premises .Meanwhile, nine bills have been passed on Thursday in the assembly, including The Assam Right to Public Services Act and The Assam Ground Water Control and Regulation Act.
