The Assam government has opened its borders with North Eastern states except Sikkim to allow return of stranded people to the state. Police and medical teams have been deployed at the border point. <br />'' <br />'' Assam shares borders with several North Eastern states. Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that no pass is required for people travelling from North Eastern states but all returnees to be screened at inter state borders.
