<span style="color: #222222;">The Numaligarh Refinery Limited, NRL in Assam has undertaken various expansion projects including laying of a 1700 kilometer pipeline to boost productivity. <br />''<br />''Talking exclusively to AIR News, Managing Director of the NRL, S K Baruah said that the laying of the pipeline from Paradip Port to Assam would ensure the crude oil forever for the refineries in Assam.&nbsp; Apart from that , a 165 kilometer long Siliguri- Bangladesh pipeline project is also being carried out by the NRL with the financial assistance of the MEA. Mr. Baruah also said that in a bid to ramp up NRL's production from 3 to 9 Million Metric Tonne Per Annum an expansion project is also being carried out at Numaligarh with over 22 thousand crore rupees. <br />''<br />''This expansion project would provide daily employment to 1500 people in coming days. On the other hand, a bio- refinery project is likely to be commissioned at Numaligarh by August next year. Mr. Baruah mentioned that NRL has the market in Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar.&nbsp; Giving emphasis on Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, he said that NRL mostly restricted tender of below 200 crore rupees for local contractors instead of going for global tender.
