<span style="color: #222222;">The Numaligarh Refinery Limited, NRL in Assam has undertaken various expansion projects including laying of a 1700 kilometer pipeline to boost productivity. <br />''<br />''Talking exclusively to AIR News, Managing Director of the NRL, S K Baruah said that the laying of the pipeline from Paradip Port to Assam would ensure the crude oil forever for the refineries in Assam.  Apart from that , a 165 kilometer long Siliguri- Bangladesh pipeline project is also being carried out by the NRL with the financial assistance of the MEA. Mr. Baruah also said that in a bid to ramp up NRL's production from 3 to 9 Million Metric Tonne Per Annum an expansion project is also being carried out at Numaligarh with over 22 thousand crore rupees. <br />''<br />''This expansion project would provide daily employment to 1500 people in coming days. On the other hand, a bio- refinery project is likely to be commissioned at Numaligarh by August next year. Mr. Baruah mentioned that NRL has the market in Bhutan, Bangladesh and Myanmar.  Giving emphasis on Aatma Nirbhar Bharat, he said that NRL mostly restricted tender of below 200 crore rupees for local contractors instead of going for global tender. Apart from this, various steps are being taken in MSME sector and skill development to promote Aatma Nirbhar Bharat initiative. </span><br />''  <br />
