In Assam, no untoward incident has been reported during the last 36 hours in Bodoland Territorial Area Districts, BTAD . Curfew has been relaxed in Kokrajhar district for 15 hours from 6 am .But indefinite curfew continues in Chirang district as a precautionary measure.

Police detained 15 picketers at Bijni this morning when they were trying to block railway lines demanding the dissolution of Bodoland Territorial Council. A strict vigil is being maintained in the violence hit areas.

Assam government has given cheque of one lakh rupees each as an ex-gratia to the family of five persons who lost their lives on Saturday at Chodhuri para in Chirang.

Army and other security forces have started counter insurgency operation in violence marred areas to nab member of insurgent group.

Meanwhile, normal life disrupted in some parts of the state including Guwahati in the wake of 12 -hour bandh called by Bajrang Dal and Viswa Hindu Parishad demanding arrest of AIUDF chief and Loksahba member Badruddin Ajmal.

A BJP goodwill mission comprising leaders from various states also visited various cities of north-east to instil confidence among people who have returned home from other states. The team appealed to those who had left their places of work and study in different states, to return.

Assam government has set up help desk to facilitate online and SMS registration for those who have returned home till 22nd of this month from other states in the wake of SMS threat.

North East Frontier Railway will run special trains from September the First to meet the requirement of passengers.
