In Assam, the newly-elected Congress Legislators will meet in Guwahati on Tuesday to elect the CLP leader. The CLP meeting is to be attended by Senior Congress leaders – Pranab Mukherjee and Digvijoy Singh. Our Correspondent reports that Tarun Gogoi is likely to be elected CLP leader unopposed to enable him to continue as the Chief Minister of the State for the third consecutive term.According to official sources, the new Congress Government in the State is likely to take oath on Wednesday. The Congress party got absolute majority by winning 78 of the total 126 seats in the State Assembly. The Congress ally Bodoland Peoples Front (BPF) which won 12 seats has expressed its willingness to join the Congress government.Meanwhile, the last Cabinet meeting of the Tarun Gogoi-led State Government was held at Dispur this evening. It adopted a resolution for dissolution of the 12th Assembly in the State. The Cabinet decision was faxed to the Governor Janaki Ballav Patnaik for his acceptance this evening. The Chief Minister Mr. Gogoi is supposed to meet the Governor formally at Raj Bhavan in Guwahati tomorrow at 11.00 in the morning.
