Top officials of Assam and Mizoram held talks yesterday at Lailapur in Cachar district close to the inter-state border where a violent clash left many people injured. Officials from both sides decided to take necessary steps to ensure peace and tranquility along the inter state border.<br />'' <br />''Also, the Union Government has assured both Mizoram and Assam Government to amicably resolve the boundary dispute between two neighbouing states.<br />'' <br />''Union Home Minister Amit Shah yesterday spoke to Mizoram Chief Minister Zoramthanga on the recent turn of events and escalations on the Assam-Mizoram border. Mr Shah expressed his concern on the border row between these two states and assured all help to resolve the standoff amicably. <br />'' <br />''Officials said that the DoNER Minister Jitendra Singh and Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla also spoke to the Chief Minister. Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal also spoke to Mr Zoramthanga and both leaders resolved to end the conflict amicably.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Chief Minister Zoramthanga also spoke to Home Minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sarma.
