<span style="color: black;">In Assam, Mission Director of National Health Mission Dr. Lakshmanan S has appealed to people to enjoy upcoming festivals including Durga puja with all necessary COVID-19 precautions. Participating in an AIR talk show, Dr. Lakshmanan said that  steps are being taken to ensure that the people are able to observe the festivals without getting affected by the COVID-19.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">He said that all committee members and those involved in organising the festivals will have to be vaccinated with at least one dose of vaccine before seeking permission to organize events.</span><br />'' <br />'' <span style="color: black;">The Mission Director said that the COVID situation in Assam is improved now but urged people to follow all protocols . He said that over 2.59 crore people were vaccinated in Assam with nearly 64 lakh people having got both the jabs.</span>
