Situation has improved in the violence-hit areas of Assam.The District Administration relaxed day curfew in Kokrajhar and Chirang district today. A CBI team on Friday visited Kokrajhar district and met local people to gather preliminary information. The CBI will investigate the pattern of the violence, which displaced 4 lakh people in three districts. UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde are likely to visit Kokrajhar and Dhubri on Monday. Meanwhile, the Assam Government has taken slew of initiatives as a part of confidence building measures.
