Assam launches India’s biggest river cruise, M V Mahabahu

Union Tourism Minister Subodh Kant Sahay and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi launched the biggest river cruise of the country, MV Mahabahu in Guwahati yesterday. It will sail along Brahmaputra River from Guwahati to Nimati in Jorhat district.

The cruise has been developed under PPP mode between Assam Tourism Development Corporation and Far Horizon India. Even before the launch of the luxury cruise, bookings have been completed for the next two years. Plying the mighty Brahmaputra, it will give a unique opportunity to explore Assam from the high level of comfort.

The cruise ,comprising of 29 cabins, would offer a week long journey which include Kaziranga National park, Majuli Island, green lash tea estates and historical monuments.

The facilities on -board of the cruise include swimming pool and Jacuzzis, among others. The per night journey at M.V Mahabahu will cost from 13 thousand to 35 thousand per person.
