Assam is turning into a health care hub not only in NE States, but also for whole country: Home Minister

Union Home Minister Amit Shah today said that Assam is turning into a health care hub not only in the North Eastern states, but also for the whole country. He was speaking after dedicating 300-bedded Cardiothoracic and Neurosciences Centre of the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) to the nation.<br />''<br />''Mr. Shah said that the Union Government is providing the required thrust to turn Assam into a medical hub. He informed that the Centre has increased the budgetary allocation for the health sectors in the country. The government is working on a planned  method to improve the health care sectors of the country.<br />''<br />''The Union Home Minister appreciated the Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the city-centric health care system to the rural areas of India.<br />''<br />''Mr. Shah informed that Union Government is working to solve  the recurring flood problems of Assam on priority basis and want to see it as a developed state.<br />''<br />''Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma said that the State Government is working to start a medical college in every district and informed that the second medical college of Guwahati, Pragjyotishpur Medical College will be ready within a span of two years. Dr. Sarma informed that the present Gauhati Medical College will be dismantled to construct a 3,000 bedded hospital.<br />'' <br />''Tomorrow, the Union Home Minister will confer the President's Colour to the Assam Police at a Special Parade in Guwahati and will interact with the Officers and Jawans of Assam Police.<br />'' <br />''Mr. Shah will attend a public meeting as a Chief Guest in the city to commemorate the First Anniversary of the present BJP-led Government in the state.<br />'' <br />''The Union Home Minister will also review the State's law and order situation with security agencies in the afternoon.<br />''Mr. Shah will lay the foundation stone for the new Deputy Commissioner's building, Police Commissioner's office, Guwahati Police Reserve Bhawan and a Public Auditorium in Guwahati. He will return to Delhi in the evening.<br />
