<span style="color: black;">In Assam, Independence day is being celebrated across the state with enthusiasm. The National flag was hoisted across the state. Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma hoisted the tricolour at Khanapara in Guwahati. Addressing the people of the state , the Chief Minister appealed to ULFA leader Paresh Baruah to return to the mainstream.  He stressed that border disputes with neighbouring states to be resolved through dialogue.</span>
