In Assam, security forces recovered a huge cache of explosives and ammunition hidden by ultras from Laopani area inside Ripu Chirang Reserved Forest, bordering Bhutan in Kokrajhar district today. The recovery includes- 156 detonators, 53 rounds of AK-47 rifle ammunition, 12 grenades, three Chinese-made grenades, two pencil timer, two improvised explosive device (IED), eight IED circuits, three FM radio receivers, ten IED timer device, one US-made auto pistol and three country-made pistols. Official sources said, acting on a tip off a joint team of Army and police carried out operation in the area and came across the ammunition hidden inside the forest. Police have suspected that the ammunition were kept hiding by militants belonging to anti-talk faction of the banned National Democratic Front of Bodoland (NDFB). Police also noticed suspected movement of some cadres of the militant group in the area.
