Assam govt to set up Corporation to streamline procurement in health sector

The Assam government has proposed to set up an Assam Medical Services Corporation Limited to streamline and improve the system of procurement and logistics relating to the health sector. Official sources said, the State Health Department has proposed an amount of one crore rupees in the current financial year for this purpose. The mandate of the proposed corporation is to make quality goods and services available in a time-bound manner. The corporation will also work to eliminate wastage of medicines and and ensure transparency in the business process. It will emphasise buying or acquiring all kinds of generic and patent medicines and establishing research centers in the state.
