Assam govt to recruit teaching staff on contract

Assam Government has decided to go for large-scale recruitment of teaching staff on contractual basis to maintain the mandatory ratio of teacher and students in schools. <br/> <br/>The State has as many as 22 schools without students and 13 schools without teachers. 152 revenue villages of the State have no primary schools and only 23,654 primary schools of the State have the mandatory teacher-students ratio of 1:40. <br/> <br/>The State Education Minister Mr. Gautam Bora informed this in the on-going Budget Session of the Assam Assembly. <br/> <br/>The Minister said Chief Minister Mr. Tarun Gogoi would announce some innovative measures on the issue of provincialization of schools in the annual Budget slated to be presented in the House on Monday next. <br/> <br/>At present, the State has over 1300 non-provincialized Lower Primary, high and higher secondary schools and the number of teachers working in these institutions is 17,182.<br/>
