Assam govt to initiate special scheme to benefit around 12 lakh population

Assam government will initiate a special scheme covering four lakh, 10 thousand hectare crop-lands which will benefit around 12 lakh population. Speaking to newspersons in Guwahati, state Agriculture Minister Nilmani Sen Deka said that the current flood affected three lakh, 28 thousand agriculture lands. Under the scheme, master seeds of paddy and other crops will be distributed to the farmers, power tillers and tractors will be provided at 50 per cent subsidy and free tractorization will also be done in some areas. The Minister further said that another scheme of 18 crore rupees will also be started in the violence -affected Bodoland Territorial Area Districts, BTAD area.Meanwhile, the investigative team of Wildlife Crime Control Bureau will reach Kaziranaga National Park this evening. The team will investigate the killings of rhinos by poachers at Kaziranaga.
