Assam Government has asked the district Deputy Commissioners to submit detailed attendance reports of doctors in the hospitals during last six months. The State Health and Education Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma told this to newsmen in Guwahati on Wednesday. He warned that the State Government would act tough on doctors playing truant, and those shirking their responsibilities. He said the doctors who occasionally attend duty and those who do not attend duty at all will be asked to retire voluntarily.
