Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has ordered suspension of four police personnel for dereliction of duties. They had accompanied the deceased Hamren SP, Nrityananda Goswami on Thursday against militant outfit but allegedly escaped from the spot. The family members of Nrityananda Goswami today demanded CBI inquiry into the killing of Mr. Goswami. They said that a thorough investigation would unearth the truth behind the causes of death.

Union Minister of State for Home, Kiren Rijiju who is in Assam to pay tribute to the deceased police officials, will hold talks with Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi and senior officials’ today. Mr. Rijiju is likely to discuss the law and order situation of the State after the killing of the two cops. Talking to newsmen outside airport, the Union Minister said that Centre is ready to provide all help to the Assam government.
