<span style="color: #222222;">The Assam government has intensified vigil to contain the COVID 19 situation in the state following the report of the first Omicron case yesterday. Assam has reported its first Omicron case after a Saudi Arabia returnee was found to be an Omicron patient. Health Minister Keshab Mahanta is likely to announce a new SOP for the state by evening. The Health Minister said that all steps are being taken including upgrading of infrastructure to contain the situation. Meanwhile, 2.95 lakh teenagers have got the first jab of vaccines till last report came in across the state.</span><br />
