<br/>The Assam Government has denied involvement of any minister in the North Cachar Hills district Council scam. This was clarified by the State Forest Minister Mr. Rockybul Hussain while presenting the interim report of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) investigating the alleged scam on the concluding day of the month-long Budget Session of the Assam Legislative Assembly yesterday. <br/><br/>The Minister was presenting the NIA report in the Assembly on behalf of the Chief Minister Mr. Tarun Gogoi. Mr. Hussain admitted that the amount involved in the scam ranges from 20 to 30 crore rupees and not one thousand crore rupees as reported upon by the media. He said the copy of the report will now be sent to the Central Government for necessary action on their part.
