The Assam government has decided to handover all cases relating to multi-crore financial mis-management in the North Cachar Hills (Dima Hasao) District to the CBI. Official sources said, State Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi has asked the Chief Secretary Naba Kumar Das to take up the matter with the investigating agency immediately. The Comptroller and Auditor General of India in its latest report presented to the government had detected large-scale irregularities and mis-management of funds meant for development in several key departments in the Hill district.
