<span style="color: #222222;">In Assam, the Golaghat district administration has geared up with all necessary preparations for the smooth conduct of the state assembly elections. In order to create awareness about the electoral process among the electorate, extensive measures have been taken under the Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Participation Programme, SVEEP. Official sources informed that persons above 80 years of age could cast their votes by postal ballot.<br />'' <br />'' Such ballots will be collected from their homes as and when required. There are 8,196 voters above the age of 80 who have been included in the electoral roll so far in the four assembly constituencies of Golaghat district. Polling at Golaghat district would be held on the 27th of next month.</span><br />''  <br />
