In Assam, the flood situation deteriorated today as breached in embankments submerged new villages and National Highways. The rising water of the Brahmaputra flooded 40 villages this morning at Paajarbhanga in Barpeta district. Raging water also flooded 50 villages in Nalbari district. Surface communication between Assam and Bhutan also affected as flood washed away a portion of Indo-Bhutan road at Baalagaon in Rangia.Movements of vehicles are affected in Morigaon as flood water overtopped National Highway, 37 .Meanwhile, National Disaster Relief Forces , NDRF team has started rescue operations at Majuli district in Jorhat where 100 villages were submerged.3 people swept away in last 12 hours .Flood water also completely submerged Pobitara Wildlife Sancutary.
