In Assam, the overall flood situation continues to be grim in Lakhimpur and Dhemaji districts and also at the Kaziranga National Park. Nearly 200 villages have been flooded by incessant rain in the affected districts and the catchments of the neighbouring hills of Arunachal Pradesh. The Central Water Commission said the river Bramaputra and its a few tributaries are flowing above the danger level. AIR correspondent reports, nearly two lakh people have been affected by the flood in Dhemaji, Lakhimpur , Jorhat and Sonitpur districts. Three people have lost their ives in the flood. The overflowing of streams at Kaziranga National Park submerged a few low-line areas of the park. A few forest check-posts of the park also affected by the raising water. But no report of any damage to the park's inhabitant have been received so far. District administration and forest department took all sorts of precautionary measures and relief operations. Article 144 has been imposed at Bokakhat and Kaliadar sub-division. Met department predicts more rain and thunder showers over a few places of the state in next few hours.
