The Assam Government has set September 6 as the deadline to verify land documents of the displaced people staying at relief camps in Bodoland Territorial Area and Dhubri districts. Around 2.40 lakh people are staying at 234 camps at present.Official sources in Guwahati said on the basis of the verification, the genuine citizen would be rehabilitated. The matter is likely to be discussed on Thursday between the state group of Ministers and representatives of the Bodoland Territorial Council, BTC. Documents of more than 2000 families were verified in Kokrajhar yesterday.Meanwhile, the overall situation in the violence-hit areas has improved. But strict vigil is being maintained as a precautionary measure. Army has already started counter insurgency operation in Kokrajhar district to nab members of insurgent groups involved in perpetrating ethnic clashes.
