Curtains will come down today of the five day long Namami Brahmaputra festival in Assam. Namami Brahmaputra, the biggest river festival is being organized by the Assam government in 21 districts. Quoting official sources, Our Correspondent reports, an MoU to dredge the Brahmaputra will be signed this evening in Guwahati. <br/><br/>'<br/>The much awaited MoU to dredge the Brahmaputra will be signed by the Assam government, Inland Waterways Authority of India and National Highways Authority of India. Union Road Transport minister Nitin Gadkari and several Chief Ministers of North East will witness the signing of the MoU. The dredging of nearly 900 kilometres of the Brahmaputra is likely to provide much needed relief from flood as well as ways opening of new opportunities in water transport. It may be recalled that spiritual leader Dalai Lama, several Union ministers participated in the Namami Brahmaputra festival which was inaugurated by President Pranab Mukherjee in Guwahati.
