In Assam, the Fisheries department is expected to double &nbsp;the fish production in the state under the Pradhan Mantri Matysa Sampada Yojana.<br />'' <br />'' Talking to AIR, the Commissioner- Secretary in the Fisheries department Rakesh Kumar said that Assam produces 3.35 lakh MT of fish annually. He said that target has been set to produce 7 lakh MT of fish in 5 years under the Pradhan Mantri Matysa Sampada Yojna.<br />'' <br />'' Mr. Kumar said that the Assam government has sent a proposal of 5 thousand crore rupees under the scheme for 5 years. He further said that 25 lakh people are engaged in fish farming in Assam.&nbsp;<br />'' &nbsp;
