Assam fisheries bagged best Pisciculture award

The Assam Fisheries department has bagged the best Pisciculture national award for the year 2009-10. The award has been awarded by the Central Fisheries Institute and Indian Association of Fisheries and was conferred on Wednesday in Mumbai. The Assam Chief Minister, Mr Tarun Gogoi has lauded the performance of the state fisheries for getting this award. The Chief Minister also assured all possible assistance in future for the department. The state fisheries Minister, Mr Nurjamal Sarkar has said that the department will take several steps for self-reliance of those involved in the trade.<br/>
