In Assam, the State government decided to provide benefits of government welfare schemes to small families in a bid to control the population, said Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma today in Guwahati. He informed this while launching the scheme, Mahila Udyamita Achoni for developing entrepreneurship among women.&nbsp; Addressing the media, the Chief Minister said that under the Mahila Udyamita Achoni 39 lakh females of the State who are members of Self Help Groups would get financial benefits in three phases within three years of duration with certain conditions for doing the business.&nbsp; A total of 145 business models have already been identified and selected, added Mr. Sarma.<br />''<br />''Mr Sarma informed that General and OBC category women with only three children would get the benefit of the scheme except for Moran, Mottak, Tea tribes, SC and ST. In these categories, women with up to four children would get the benefit of the scheme, he added. The&nbsp; Chief Minister announced that in the first year, the women will get 10,000 rupees, in the second year 12,500 rupees and the third year 12,500 rupees.<br />''<br />''Mr Sarma also informed that the State government would also take two undertakings from the beneficiaries that she would not give birth to more than two children and admit her already-born girl child to school.
