In Assam, officials of Customs (Preventive) Commissioner ate, north-eastern region, Guwahati has destroyed cannabis cultivation grown on about 57 bighas of land in Barpeta and Kamrup districts on Saturday. According to sources in Customs Commissionerate, the value of the fully-grown cannabis is estimated to be over rupees 5crore 70 lakh.<br/><br/>Officials of DRI, Central Excise, and the Kamrup administration assisted in the operation. A team of officials comprising over 100 personnel participated in the day-long operation of cutting and uprooting the fully-grown cannabis plants and burning them at the site of cultivation.<br/><br/> <br/>
