Following improvement in the situation, curfew has been relaxed in Kokrajhar district of Assam from 4 am to 9 pm. However Indefinite curfew continues in Chirang district after unidentified miscreants killed five persons yesterday. A massive search operation is on to nab the culprits.

Official sources said that the incident occurred at Choudhuri para when the victims were returning from relief camps to their home. With this, the total death toll has gone up to 94 in recent violence.

In another incident, four people were injured in an attack by unidentified miscreants at Salakati area in Kokrajhar this morning. They were rushed to nearby hospital.

Various civil society organisations condemned the incident and urged all to maintain peace and harmony.
