Assam constable creates Guinness World Records

In Assam, 22 year old Abhijit Baruah entered the Guinness Book of World Records by running a barefoot distance of 156.2 kilometers in 24 hours at Jorhat on Tuesday. This category of records is new and the Abhijit is the first one to set it. The Assam Police constable began his run at around 4 p.m on Monday and concluded at the same time and place on Tuesday.Addressing newsmen, Mr. B K Chnadrasekhor Tiwari , representative of the Guinness Book of World Records said that as per guidelines, a person need to run 150 km barefoot in 24 hours to establish a record and it was achieved in 23 hours and 19 minutes.AIR correspondent reports, thousands of people had gathered along the road to witness this historic moment and celebrated the success of Abhijit with great joy and pride.
