In Assam, around 32 dissident Congress MLAs today met Governor J B Patnaik in Raj Bhaban. State Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, spearheading the dissidence said that the details of their meeting with the governor will be revealed shortly. The dissident Congress MLAs have demanded the ouster of Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi from his post.

Meanwhile, two senior MLAs Sarat Borkotoky and Bhumidhar Barman have met Chief Minister at his official residence a short while ago. They are likely to convey the Chief Minister’s message to the dissident group.
