Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi urged the Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh governments to ensure safety of the people of Assam who are residing there. Official sources in Guwahati said that Mr Gogoi asked both his counterparts to take stern action against the culprits who are spreading rumors and threatening to attack people from Assam. Both the Chief Ministers assured of best possible security measures to the people of Assam. Assam government has also appointed a nodal officer and set up a control room in Guwahati to look into the matter.
