<span style="color: #222222;">Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today took part in the fifth foundation day programme of river island Majuli district at Dariapar in Majuli. Speaking on this occasion, Mr. Sonowal stated that today is the historic day for the people of Majuli as it was on this day in 2016, the present state government had declared Majuli as a district only after three months of assuming power. <br />''<br />''He said that during the last four years,  Majuli has witnessed tremendous development and urged the people of Majuli to make the island district one of the most pristine and beautiful places in the world. In today's programme, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone and inaugurated a total of 329 schemes under various departments worth 121 crore rupees.</span><br />
