Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that efforts are being made to conduct one lakh COVID tests daily in the state. Talking to newspersons in Guwahati after a review meeting, he said that 20,000 people would be tested daily in Guwahati from 17th of this month. He also informed that from 17th onwards, COVID patients above the age of 50, who do not have separate toilets in their houses, would have to be mandatorily shifted to COVID care centres or hospitals.&nbsp;<br />''<br />''<span style="color: #222222;">Mr. Sarma also said that a new SOP for tea garden areas would be issued by the Health Department tomorrow. He said that steps are being taken for providing food items worth Rs 2000 as one-time allowance to poor patients in containment zones.</span><br />
