Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said Army has achieved remarkable success in bringing stability to the insurgency-hit North-East. He said, a large number of cadres from various insurgent groups of the region have come back to mainstream due to continued effort of the Army during the last three months. The Chief Minister exhorted the new generation of the State to join the Indian Army and serve for the cause of the nation. Mr. Gogoi was addressing the jawans and the public at the first-ever ‘Fauji Mela’ exposition held at Tezpur in Central Assam on Sunday. The day-long programme was held specially to showcase the strength, organization and capabilities of the Indian Army. It was marked by a well choreographed display of combat power comprising mock attack and battle drills, followed by the high energy charge by Gorkha Soldiers
