Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi today declared Dhekeajuli town in Sontipur district as Saheed Nagar (Martyr’s Town) due to its historical role played during freedom movement of the country. Mr Gogoi also announced a grant of 50 lakh rupees on the occasion of Martyr’s Day, for the development of the town where several freedom fighters sacrificed their lives
